Drivers tend to be pretty good at looking up a vehicle's gas mileage, safety features, fancy gadgets and ratings before pulling the trigger on a purchase. But what about a car's comfort level regarding a driver's height? It might get a bit tricky since there is no such thing as a height-to-comfort ratio. Lucky for us, Consumer Reports researched the best and worst vehicles for both tall and short drivers in terms of seat comfort, driving position, accessibility and view.

Below are the top and bottom five vehicles for each height group.

Tall Drivers

  1. BMW 7 Series
  2. Audi Q7
  3. Honda Pilot
  4. Volvo XC90
  5. Toyota Highlander

  1. Porsche 718 Boxster
  2. Ford Fiesta ST
  3. Ford Focus ST
  4. Mazda MX-5 Miata
  5. Mitsubishi i-MiEV

Short Drivers:

  1. Subaru Forester
  2. Lexus LS
  3. Honda Accord
  4. BMW 7 Series
  5. Lexus ES

  1. Porsche 718 Boxster
  2. Mazda MX-5 Miata
  3. Ford Fiesta ST
  4. Toyota Tacoma
  5. Mitsubishi Mirage

Notice the best for tall doesn't automatically mean the worst for short. In fact, there are vehicles that scored highly or poorly for both. Sports cars tend to be notoriously rough fits for tall and short, while Subarus and Hondas tend to appease both.
