From lasers to voice commands, we’re talking about The 5 coolest car technologies and gadgets of the year.

Ford SYNC + Amazon Echo

“Garage door close. Garage door open. Garage door close.” We think voice command is awesome. Use the Amazon Alexa app to connect to your home’s Amazon Echo, and boom! Gone are the days of turning around to check if your garage door is closed or your lights are on. Just tell Alexa, and she’ll do it for you. Check it out.

Garmin HUD+

You need to keep your eyes on the road, but you also need to know where you’re going. The solution? A GPS that projects turn-by-turn directions onto your car’s windshield. Road trips will never be the same. Check it out.

Velodyne’s LiDAR Sensor

This laser sensor is ideal for safe driving. It’s designed for obstacle detection and navigation of autonomous ground vehicles and marine vessels. But, we’ll be honest, they had us at lasers. Check it out.

MindMobile 3-in-1 Bluetooth Smart

Where does the 3-in-1 come from, you might ask. This gadget is a car charger, a car finder and a phone reminder. MindMobile marks your parking location on your smartphone, so you can find your car easier. It also sends out a reminder ringtone when you forget your phone. What’s not to love about that? Check it out.
