There’s nothing better than settling into a long road trip with a great new podcast. As you prep for your upcoming summer adventures, check out some of these podcasts to keep you company on the open road.
1. Radiolab
Radiolab is one of the seasoned veterans of the podcast world. It’s been around since 2002 and is still going strong. Radiolab appeals to the curious, and dives deep into scientific and philosophical topics, all the while embracing the art of storytelling in each episode.
From themes like driverless cars to an astronaut’s day-to-day life while they are floating in space, Radiolab has a topic for everyone. Their large library of podcasts will make you want to take the long route to your next destination.
2. Crime Junkie
True to its title, Crime Junkie is for all the crime and mystery lovers out there. The host spends each episode digging into whatever particular crime is interesting her that week.
She covers some well-known stories like Adnan from Serial, but also discusses lesser-known cases and disappearances many haven’t heard of. We wouldn’t judge you if you plan a road trip just for an excuse to binge this podcast.

Need a daily dose of news? Look no further - this podcast was basically made for you! The Daily comes from The New York Times and is a quick 20-minute podcast that catches you up on the big news of the day.
This podcast is released every day of the workweek, so there’s no shortage of episodes to choose from. Now that you’re in road trip mode, you have all the time in the world to catch up on everything you may have missed!
